Lorbeer Middle School Tour

  • This link takes to you to the slides that me and Susette made of the Lorbeer Middle School Tour. We took pictures of each location that we were going to feature in our tour and explained about each location on the slides. It was really fun to work with Susette and I'm glad I did. Since we both did our parts and I think it turned out really good. I won't say much about the locations from the tour because I want you to see our project for yourself so I will leave you right here. :) lol

Silhouette Project

  • What I did for the Silhouette Project was take a side picture of myself (I got help from Kaylee to do this😊) and upload it into google drive. Then I inserted the photo onto the slide and cropped, recolored, and boosted the contrast and brightness. Lastly, I added text boxes and typed adjectives of myself. Also, I think this picture makes my cheeks look really chubby.
Tender: Whenever I see my friends sad I would look at them with concerning eyes and ask them what's wrong. Occasionally they would just want to be left alone but I still look at them with concerning eyes. Conceeeeeerrrrning. Sometimes I would start crying with them but they wouldn't know. Sadness hits me.

Quiet: People always say I'm too quiet so I try to talk more. Usually, it's just because I'm really tired and I don't feel like doing anything. I also don't talk when I'm eating so sometimes it would be awkward when I'm with a friend and no one is talking. Generally, I'm quiet because I'm shy and sometimes when I try to say something it just comes out of my mouth wrong and then I mess up and get embarrassed so I don't say anything. Sometimes that's just the best thing to do. mmmm At home I'm the craziest person ever.

Mysterious: I make a lot of facial expressions so I express a lot on my face. Sometimes I just make a random expression on something someone commented about but I don't say anything because I can't explain what I'm thinking or myself or anything in general. I'm the just best at not explaining things right. I bet you you didn't understand anything you just read. I don't say anything that's going on in my head because it's too much so people will never know... My Life Is A mYsTeRY... that was just the weirdest thing ever. I'm sorry, please forgive me.

Quirky: I was just born with weird traits that define my personality and make me who I am. Wanna know more about me? Become.. my friend... That was also really weird. I'm sorry please forgive me for the second time.

Passionate: I have a loving passion for Korean pop music. It changed my life forever... I will always get excited and get away from my sadness when something related to k-pop comes up. For example, when we got Stray Kids My Pace to play in Mrs. Hefler's classroom, that will forever stay in memory. My new hype? is "Sample Of My Pasta", I'm addicted to it. Even though it's not actual k-pop, it's a bad lip reading video of the music video Idol which I like too. The lyrics are just the best thing ever and match the lip singing really well. The lyrics also in a way fit into the music video. The beat is catchy too.

Magnetic Poetry

  • What I did for Magnetic Poetry was put together a limited amount of words that came with the copy to make a poem. I think this was a fun activity to do since you can put any word together to make a fun sentence. It also had some weird words that you can add so why not use them. Overall I think it makes sense. You have to read every single word slowly to understand what I made. I'm not even sure if this is a poem but I think its alright πŸ‘

Websites I Visited

Voice Note - Voice Note is an app that types with your voice and speech recognition. Voice Note also comes with a simple functional notepad. I think this app can come in handy for the use of school to type documents and essays etc.

Good Reads - Goodreads is a website that allows individuals to freely search its database of books, annotations, and reviews. Users can sign up and register books to generate library catalogs and reading lists. They can also create their own groups of book suggestions, surveys, polls, blogs, and discussions. I think Goodreads is a good website to search up books that have your interests and to look at reviews on books that people love and read them.

This Day In History - The website This Day In History shares fascinating stories about the history that happened on a specific day. For example, on September 13 I learned that:
  • In 1788, the first national elections were ordered to be held in the United States.
  • In 1948, Margaret Chase Smith was elected to be a U.S. Senator from Maine and was the first woman to serve in both houses of the United States Congress.
  • In 2000, a Taiwanese American Scientist named Wen Ho Lee was set free with an apology after being held for 9 months on charges he revealed about nuclear secrets.
  • During the war 1812, Francis Scott Key was detained in the British ship overnight and witnessed the attack on Fort McHenry. In 1814, Key was inspired by the war to write the anthem Star Spangled Banner.

Incredibox

My Incredibox Song

The website Incredibox lets you create your own music and beats. You start off by choosing one of the six versions. Once you have chosen a version you start making music. You drag an icon and drop it on a guy. Now you have made your first mix! There are a lot of icons you can choose from so you have many options. You just keep dragging icons and dropping them on guys until you think you have added the number of beats you want. You can also share your music and publish it and get likes to try to get into the top 50 which I think is cool. Overall I think Incredibox is a really fun way to be creative with music. I made a song using Incredibox and added the link to it but I only know how to get the sample of it. I will try to find out the way to get the full song for you guys.😊

Picasso Head

My Picasso head

  • I used the website Picasso Head to make this very wonderful piece of art for this project. The website includes facial features in Picasso's style for drawing. All you have to do is drag the icons onto your canvas and start creating your Picasso Head which I think makes it really easy to use. My artwork is inspired by Pablo Picasso who I think creates very unique paintings that I have never seen before. I like how he puts a lot of color into his art and creates a lot of abstract designs into his artwork also.

Customizing My Blog!

To customize my blog I went to Theme and did a bunch of editing stuff. I didn't really do much to customize my blog because I thought it looked fine just the way it was but I'll show you what I did to do so

1. First I changed the background. I added a picture of a sunset because I think it's aesthetically pleasing, the same as my profile picture

2. Then I went to Advanced and changed the font of my blog title to Georgia

3. I changed the height of my background to make the sunset look bigger on my blog

4. I changed the font of the tabs for my pages into Georgia

5. I changed the font for the title of my post on my home page to Philosopher (wow what a word)

6. I changed the font for the search bar to Georgia

7. I made the sidebar width thinner and  made the content width smaller too

8. Lastly, I applied everything I did to my blog and  BOOMSHACALACAWACA! I customized my blog

What I Learned in Code Academy! (well, not really "learn" because I didn't remember all of this info and I will most likely not use any of this info in the future so why bother)

Tell A Computer To Ignore A Program
- Text written in a program but not run by a computer is called a comment
- Python interprets anything after a # as a comment

Comments Can
-  Provide context for why something is written the way it is
- Help other people reading the code understand it faster
- Ignore a line of code and see how a program will run without it

Teaching A Computer How To Communicate
- The print ( ) function is used to tell a computer to talk
- The message should be surrounded by quotes
- The printed words that appear as a result of the print()function are referred to as output.

Strings
- Blocks of texts are called strings
- A string is either surrounded by double quotes or single quotes

Variables
- Programming languages offer a method of storing data for reuse
- In Python, we assign variables by using the equals sign =
- Variables can't have spaces or symbols in their names other than an underscore

Numbers
- An integer is a whole number and has no decimal point
-A floating-point number is a decimal number and can be used to represent fractional quantities as well as precise measurements

Calculations
- Python performs addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with +,-,*,and /
- Python converts all integers to floats before performing division

Exponents
- We use the notation ** for exponents

Modulo
- The modulo operator is indicated by % and gives the remainder of a division calculation
- If the number is divisible then the result of the modulo operator will be 0
- Useful to perform an action every nth-time the code is run

Concatenation
- The operator + adds two numbers and two strings

Plus Equals
- When you have a number saved in a variable and want to add to the current value of the variable, you can use the += operator
- The += operator also can be used for string concatenation

Multi-line Strings
-  If a multi-line string isn't assigned a variable or used in an expression it is treated as a comment
- By using three quote-marks (""" or ''') instead of one, we tell the program that the string doesn't end until the next triple-quote
